My passion for knives ignited at a young age. I was just six years old when my father gifted me my first pocket knife. This sparked an enduring fascination that led me down a path of exploration, study, and collection of knives from prominent brands, crafted from advanced materials with cutting-edge technologies. However, I often found that the 'best knife' never fully met my expectations. Driven by a blend of playfulness and a quest for my quality standards, I began sketching designs that evolved into detailed projects, ultimately taking shape as Ttai Knives.

I decided to craft artisanal knives that fully satisfied my needs because I struggled to find such quality in the market. While industrial knives may be designed by engineers relying on formulas, they often miss the practical insights that come from actual users. This is our differentiating factor: my knives are meticulously crafted by a user for other users. I create, test, and refine them until they meet my exacting standards.

Industrial knives are mostly designed by engineers who apply formulas and theories, but they are not crafted by the end-users. Often, theory and practice do not align. This is what sets us apart: my knives are made by a user for other users. I create them, test them, and if they meet my standards, I put them into production; if not, I modify them until they do.

For instance, a military-style knife has guards to prevent hand slips, while general-use knives are designed with ergonomic shapes to ensure a secure grip during cutting tasks. 'Effortlessly' signifies that the blade geometry enables seamless penetration into materials, minimizing the need for excessive force and reducing risk for the user. The steel must be of the highest quality, maintained with a sharp edge for optimal performance.

In crafting my knives, I strive for an appealing aesthetic that allows users to appreciate their beauty even in tactile experiences. The knives are designed to feel 'fidgety'—enjoyable to open and close, creating a playful interaction for true knife enthusiasts.

To maintain high standards, we consistently select the best steel available on the market. Our material choices are based on research and personal experience; for example, we currently utilize CPMS90V, which ranks third in stainless steel retention according to CATRA tests.

We pay meticulous attention to heat treatment and are capable of performing cryogenic treatments using liquid nitrogen, extracting optimal characteristics from the steel.

For the handles, we use select wood, preferably sourced locally or nationally, ensuring a balance of strength and hardness with appropriate aging (wood seasons about 1 cm per year for effective curing). I also favor carbon fiber, an advanced composite material with excellent physical properties, including strength, lightweight, and rigidity—making it one of the strongest synthetic fibers available. These characteristics contribute to our knives' durability, functionality, and overall effectiveness.

While my knives may not possess strong traditional identities, certain models from our N.C.M. line evoke familiar lines reminiscent of traditional knives. However, Ttai Knives' design is primarily oriented towards the international market, utilizing cutting-edge materials for superior functionality and durability, bringing innovation to the Italian cutlery landscape—all handcrafted without automating processes.
